Award Season 2024 - here are the essential deadlines for HR marketers

Award season is here, so we’ve put together a handy list of the main HR programmes and their likely deadlines.

There are so many award programmes in the UK, across business and consumer markets, each with different categories to choose from.

HR awards, for instance, can shine a light on Health and Wellbeing, Recruitment, Learning, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB), Social Mobility, Pensions, Engagement, Great Places to Work – the list is extensive. (If you’d like to find out more about these specific awards (and others), have a look at Boost Marketing’s helpful site.)

Many HR awards are based on employer and employee excellence, so they are a prime opportunity for HR suppliers to work with their best, most inspiring customers to develop an award entry together.

Award judges, however, look for specific elements in an entry, not least innovation and evidence of results, so do check out our previous blog, 8 components to include in your HR/workplace award entries. This is particularly helpful if you want to go DIY and write an entry.

Award entries at PR in HR?

We guide our clients (and their clients) through the award entry process. We highlight information judges will want to see, then draft an entry and ensure approval from all parties, all with the aim of getting them shortlisted by the judges and winning the top prize.

Brilliantly, once an award entry is written and approved, it can have so many great uses.

They can be adapted into a case study or potentially a news release, showing how the changes impacted the organisation and employees (with client permission and sensitive info removed). Quotes can be used as testimonials or social media posts. And for the HR team and the client, they can use their entry to show the value created for the organisation.
